Interviewed for Vermont Bride Magazine

It was such an honor to be interviewed for Vermont Bride Magazine and featured in their ‘Vendor Spotlight’ Q & A for the Winter/Spring 2017 issue. I love talking about wedding photography and all of the amazing couples I’ve been able to meet along the way. This question below gets to the heart of why I love being a wedding photographer and especially a Vermont wedding photographer:

Vermont Bride: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER?

Cat: I really decided to become a storyteller and the camera is the best vehicle I have. I am of course both a romantic and a nostalgic–kind of a magic bullet for a wedding photojournalist. I love to hold onto time through photos and I’m endlessly curious and interested in hearing people’s stories. In my day-to-day life I really don’t go anywhere without my camera.

Woodstock Vermont Covered Bridge Wedding Photos

On August 3rd I photographed Maryam and Raymond’s incredibly special wedding–the date fell on their 11-year anniversary. This San Diego-based couple met at Dartmouth and decided to have their wedding close to where it all began for them. Their ceremony was at Our Lady of the Snows in Woodstock, VT, and then we marched their 40 guests over to the covered bridge (Middle Bridge) in downtown Woodstock for some photos. I had the best time taking portraits of these two who are clearly still so madly in love with each other. Congratulations Maryam and Raymond! I LOVED meeting you guys and capturing your beautiful day!
