Kristen + Kevin Elegant Barn Wedding in Vermont

Kristen’s family hails from Connecticut but has always had a family lake house near Echo Lake in Vermont and her childhood is filled with special memories on the lake. It was only fitting that her and Kevin would rent a large lake house for their wedding party in Plymouth, Vermont, and tie the know at Saltash Farm nearby. They got married in October at the height of foliage color. They had their first down on the dock overlooking Lake Echo while their closet friends and family watched from the deck high above and the colors of fall reflected serenely on the lake. The day was a perfect match to their colorful fall engagement the October before filled with foliage, donuts and apples.

The wedding party caravanned through the mountains down winding dirt roads following handmade signs until arriving at the gorgeous and secluded red barn estate of Saltash Farm in Shrewsbury, VT. Saltash Farm’s endless rolling hills with vibrant foliage leaves popped in every direction. Kristen and Kevin’s ceremony was under a canopy of trees in front of a stunning circular wedding arch. Kevin swung Kristen over and dipped her for their first kiss while their guest erupted in cheer. Their first dance was another spectacular performance filled with lifts and dips.

Guests partied the night away with a high energy band, a donut wall that was eaten up immediately, and the outdoor fire pit on the expansive lawn.

Thank you so much, Kristen and Kevin, for having me as part of your incredible wedding journey! I loved every minute of getting to know you all!

Caitlin + Chris’ Wedding at Lareau Farm Inn

Lareau Farm Inn has always held a special place in Caitlin and Chris’ hearts. They hail from Massachusetts but the Waitsfield destination has always been a second home. It was where they took their first get-away together in 2005 and they’ve gone there multiple times a year ever since, bringing along their two children and watching them grow up more with each visit. So it was only fitting that when they decided to invite their closest family and friends to witness their nuptials, they would choose to do it there along with their kids as Maid of Honor and Best Man. Their military wedding was full of delight, gratitude and fun. Congratulations, Caitlin and Chris! Thanks for having me document your beautiful day!

Basin Harbor Club Wedding, Smooth Like Water

Torrey and Colin planned their wedding at Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vermont, from their new life on the west coast. As two east coast transplants, they loved the idea of having a wedding in Colin’s native Vermont. The week leading up to their wedding, the weather forecast looked like it would be non-stop rain. But when I looked at the forecast on the morning of their wedding, it looked like we were going to dodge that rain. Minutes after I said, ‘Wow, we really got lucky with the weather,’ a crack of thunder erupted and the sky opened up. This coincided with Colin standing on the dock waiting for their first look. Luckily (and miraculously) Colin stayed dry and the wedding plans shifted. We decided to have the first look at the main lodge instead under that gorgeous green vine. As Georgi, from Basin Harbor, was driving Torrey over to the main lodge from the cottage, where she got ready, he said, “When you have rain like this on your wedding day it means your marriage will be smooth like water.” I absolutely loved the way Georgi put it. Their outdoor ceremony was moved inside, but halfway through the ceremony the sun started pouring in and by the end of the ceremony, they had a gorgeous day and were able to stay with their original plans to celebrate under the tent near the docks. The day was filled with so much love and music. Colin’s dad, a professional musician, performed during both their ceremony and reception. And Torrey’s sister and father also hit the stage, where Torrey’s sister delivered one of the all-time best (possibly only) speeches-by-song I’ve ever heard. Congratulations Torrey and Colin! It was an amazing, beautiful, and definitely exciting day–I’m so glad I got to capture it! And as Georgi says, it marks the beginning of a marriage that will no doubt be smooth like water!

Sarah & Zach’s Shelburne Farms Wedding

Sarah and Zach had an intimate, dream wedding at The Inn at Shelburne Farms.  The forecast kept everyone on their toes until the last minute and we all wondered if their ceremony would end up being outdoors. But the rain cleared just in time and it ended up being a magical outdoor ceremony overlooking Lake Champlain. I had the best time walking around Shelburne Farms to take portraits of them. Shelburne Farms has so many incredible photo opportunities and backdrops for gorgeous environmental wedding portraits. And while we walked, I loved hearing the story of how Sarah and Zach had met at a Christmas party in Rhode Island, where they still live, and how their very first date was on New Year’s Eve. Sarah, a Shelburne native, had the most incredible crushed red velvet heals, and it was only by sheer coincidence that I paired them on top of a green velvet chair. But hearing that their love story took off during the holidays made that pairing of Christmas colors so much more significant. Thank you so much Sarah and Zach for choosing me to capture your perfect day!

Mackenzie & Mark’s Farm Wedding Photography at Isham Family Farm

Mackenzie and Mark’s wedding at Isham Family Farm in Williston, Vermont, was gorgeous. The bride and her bridesmaids arrived by hay ride to the ceremony site, which had the most outstanding view. I loved draping the wedding party on the red tractor for group shots after the ceremony. Mackenzie looked absolutely stunning and I couldn’t stop capturing the rustic details of this wedding–everything from the flowers to the vintage glass vases was perfectly executed and could not have been better suited for the 1850’s carriage barn reception site. Congratulations Mackenzie and Mark, thank you so much for having me capture your spectacular day!
