Middlebury Vermont Family Photography

There was an instant connection when I first met Kylee and Brian in 2013 for a maternity photo shoot in Bristol, VT. And just a couple months later I met their 10-day-old baby Rue for newborn photography.  Now, four years later, I was overjoyed to find myself photographing sweet one-year-old baby Bee along with her big sis Rue. I couldn’t feel more honored to continue documenting their family. We met up in Cornwall, VT, near downtown Middlebury, at a private apple orchard. It was not only gorgeous but meaningful, because Kylee’s family had planted apple trees for her and her sibling when they were kids. I was obsessed with the gorgeous rose pattern on Kylee’s dress and love how she color-coordinated it to the girls’ dresses. You guys are the best, Kylee, Brian, Rue and Bee, and I’m going to need another dose of your family sometime soon!

Equally Wed Publishes Lisa and Katy’s Magical Vermont Elopement

I’m so thrilled that Equally Wed published Lisa and Katy’s wedding photos from their Vermont elopement at Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT.  Basin Harbor puts on the most beautiful elopements with so many options for ceremony locations. Not only did Lisa and Katy get the most incredible burst of evening light that shone down over their ceremony, but there was a truly magical force over their entire elopement that began when they found a handful of symbolic dimes. Basin Harbor Club Wedding Photography in Vermont Bride Magazine

It was extremely exciting to see Laura and Patrick’s Basin Harbor Club wedding published in Vermont Bride Magazine for the Winter/Fall 2017 issue. I loved everything about their day from their yellow wedding details to their sendoff through a giant tunnel of wedding sparklers. You can see the full story of their wedding photos here.

Interviewed for Vermont Bride Magazine

It was such an honor to be interviewed for Vermont Bride Magazine and featured in their ‘Vendor Spotlight’ Q & A for the Winter/Spring 2017 issue. I love talking about wedding photography and all of the amazing couples I’ve been able to meet along the way. This question below gets to the heart of why I love being a wedding photographer and especially a Vermont wedding photographer:

Vermont Bride: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER?

Cat: I really decided to become a storyteller and the camera is the best vehicle I have. I am of course both a romantic and a nostalgic–kind of a magic bullet for a wedding photojournalist. I love to hold onto time through photos and I’m endlessly curious and interested in hearing people’s stories. In my day-to-day life I really don’t go anywhere without my camera.
