Taylor + Andrew’s Lareau Farm Bohemian Dream Wedding

Taylor and Andrew’s wedding at Lareau Farm Inn was a spectacular bohemian dream bursting with such sultry chic style. Every detail inspired me from their exotic umbrella cabana lawn lounge complete with floor pillows to their handwoven summer of love sign, their giant feather plumes with flowers decorating their wedding arch, their handmade wooden cutting board centerpieces made by the groom himself to their boho flags flying high on rafters interwoven with twinkle lights. From white birdcage decor to southwestern cow skull to bowls of colorful paper folding fans, I found color and handmade details everywhere. I loved taking photos of Taylor twirling in the golden light. She was such a free-spirited bride and the entire day was such a dream for this free-spirited photojournalist. We played around with the hay bails and Andrew even launched himself off of one. It was so sweet watching the father-daughter first look between Taylor and her dad. What an awesome, dream-escape it was! I was so captivated and inspired by all that you created and the incredible love surrounding you both. Taylor and Andrew, thank you so much for choosing me to capture it for you!

Nellie + Trevor’s Engagement Photography in Quechee, VT

I am over the moon to be photographing Nellie and Trevor’s Wedding at The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm in less than a week now on Saturday, September 7th. I had such a fun time getting to know them and their amazing fur-family during this engagement shoot last fall. Their dog, Winifred, is more human-like than most people. After an engagement session in the colorful fall foliage around their beautiful hilltop house, we headed to downtown Quechee, Vermont, to capture more engagement photography near the Quechee Covered Bridge and Simon Pearce falls. This couple is so full of love and laughter, I know their wedding day is going to be unbelievable! I’m so excited to be their wedding photographer!

Amanda + Brian’s Lareau Farm Inn Wedding, Vermont

Amanda and Brian’s outdoor wedding at Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield, Vermont, was the perfect setting on Sept. 29th. The day was full of blue skies and puffy, white clouds. The foliage was turning and it was a dream day for a fall wedding. I had the pleasure of working alongside Shawn Cimonetti, who was an amazing second photographer for the day. Shawn captured Brian and the groomsmen getting ready upstairs as I stayed with the ladies downstairs. I loved how the bridesmaids each wore a different dress within the same color palette. Amanda and Brian had their first look out on the porch and we walked around the property taking photos with the wedding party before the ceremony. The outdoor ceremony location at Lareau Farm can’t be beat and is both rustic chic and secluded with surrounding nature. During the reception, their friends surprised this adventure couple with a two bicycles mounted with handmade “Just Married” signs on the front and beer cans tied to the back. They had an epic party and dancing like no other wedding and finished the night with a ShotSki nightcap. What an amazing couple and celebration! Thank you so much, Amanda and Brian, for having us capture your day!

Julie + Dave’s Backyard Vermont Wedding

Julie and Dave’s backyard wedding in East Dorset, VT, was the stuff that dreams are made of. Their wedding was such a pure reminder for me of why I became a wedding photographer and what a life-changing experience it is every time I get lucky enough to witness and document a couple’s journey. Julie and Dave are naturally unforgettable people and their wedding was a reflection of that. It was full of glowing light, rustic orchards, hand-made hearts, a rope swing, yellow fields and views, views, views expanding in every direction. There was magic and inspiration everywhere. I was struck by how beautiful and authentic Julie and Dave were throughout their day and how much love surrounded them.

Everything about their wedding had so much depth, history and meaning and at the same time was full of regrowth, rebirth and excitement for an unchartered future. Julie’s dress was a recreation of her grandmother’s original wedding dress that her friend (a professional seamstress) worked with her to reimagine. Their rings were passed down from their families, the metal melted, and recreated and given new life for their futures. Friends came forward during the end of their ceremony to sing Julie and Dave down the aisle. And each table went up to the microphone before dinner to say a poem, sing a song or choreograph a dance performance. It was unlike any other wedding I’ve ever photographed. The entire concept of what it means to have a wedding was reimagined and new life was breathed into that. In fact, this day was Act II of a three-act wedding. Act I had already taken place near Sacramento, where Julie hails from, and Act III was planned for Boulder, where Dave grew up.

When we met last spring, they told me how they wanted their wedding day to be about their friends, their family, their community, and that is exactly what their day was, a beautiful moment in time that brought me back to my own photojournalism roots and reminded me how fleeting and gorgeous one moment can really be. Thank you so much, Julie and Dave, for picking me as your photographer. I will never forget how authentic and beautiful your day was and how much of an impression it has left me with.
