We headed to The Vermont Wildflower Farm in Charlotte, VT, to take Lesley and Benjamin’s engagement photos. These two are going to be getting married on September 21, 2013, at Mary’s Restaurant at The Inn at Baldwin Creek in Bristol, VT. Loved the abundance of black eyed susans at the wildflower farm and then Benjamin surprised us all when he slipped in some hideous fake teeth to get Lesley laughing. Can’t wait to shoot there wedding in a few weeks!
Sunflowers have always been a theme in my life. When I was a teenager I used to plant a garden of just giant sunflowers. I’ll have to dig up those pictures. And when Ross and I got married we used sunflowers as our wedding theme: I had a huge bouquet of wild sunflowers, my bridesmaids each carried a sunflower staff, our cupcake cake was individual sunflower heads and the list goes on. Now with our daughter’s due date just 2 weeks away, it seems so fitting to see this field of sunflowers pop up in Charlotte, VT. I know by the time she arrives they will likely be passed, but right now they seem like a red carpet being rolled out for her arrival.
Emily’s graduation party from University of Vermont was in the most unbelievable setting on Lake Champlain. They rented two cabins in Charlotte, VT, and had the party right there on the lawn with a picturesque field to one side of them and beautiful Lake Champlain on the other overlooking a crystal clear shot of the Adirondacks.
