It was extremely exciting to see Laura and Patrick’s Basin Harbor Club wedding published in Vermont Bride Magazine for the Winter/Fall 2017 issue. I loved everything about their day from their yellow wedding details to their sendoff through a giant tunnel of wedding sparklers. You can see the full story of their wedding photos here.

It was such an honor to be interviewed for Vermont Bride Magazine and featured in their ‘Vendor Spotlight’ Q & A for the Winter/Spring 2017 issue. I love talking about wedding photography and all of the amazing couples I’ve been able to meet along the way. This question below gets to the heart of why I love being a wedding photographer and especially a Vermont wedding photographer:
Vermont Bride: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A PHOTOGRAPHER?
Cat: I really decided to become a storyteller and the camera is the best vehicle I have. I am of course both a romantic and a nostalgic–kind of a magic bullet for a wedding photojournalist. I love to hold onto time through photos and I’m endlessly curious and interested in hearing people’s stories. In my day-to-day life I really don’t go anywhere without my camera.

Danielle & Keith’s Maternity Photography
I had the best time photographing Danielle and Keith’s maternity photos! They already have one baby–their dog Hudson–who is such a cool (and photogenic) dog. He managed to make his way into most of their shots.
Danielle is due 2.21.13 (gender will be a surprise) and I can’t wait to meet their little one and capture the newborn photography for them!
Wyatt’s First Birthday Party
I had the best time photographing Wyatt’s first birthday party in Hinesburg, VT. His mom, Molly, created a handmade teepee and matching headdress for him to sport on the big day. Wyatt’s party guests watched as he stuffed his face with a strawberry shortcake cupcake and his dad, Matt, cradled him. The evidence of his birthday delight was all over his face. After cake, Wyatt got in his true birthday suit and his mom and dad helped him clean up in the kitty pool.
